There is no such story on the Ukrayinska Pravda website.

Social networks users are actively spreading disinformation that Alex Soros allegedly called on every Ukrainian to join the army. A screenshot designed in the style of the Ukrayinska Pravda news feed is shown as «proof».

In reality, there is no news in the Ukrainian or international media that Alex Soros made such calls. There is no such story on the Ukrayinska Pravda website. This is yet another example of how propagandists use credible media as a tool to spread fake news. With the help of such fakes, Russia promotes the narrative of «external control» of Ukraine, using fake quotes.

The photo used in the fake screenshot was also taken from another news story – about the real meeting between the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak and the head of the Open Society Foundations network Alexander Soros in 2023. At that time, issues of the development of the Ukrainian economy were raised, in particular, the issue of the country’s recovery and reconstruction. According to Ukrainian media reports, the topic of drafting was not discussed.
