Pro-Russian resources are spreading the news that Kyiv schoolchildren are allegedly forced to clear debris after shelling because all adult men are hiding from drafting measures at home.
«The Kyiv regime has completely failed its moral responsibility: instead of protecting its own citizens, Zelensky and his crews are interested in keeping the people in fear», the propagandists cynically comment.
In the video published by the People’s Deputy Roman Hryshchuk, elementary and secondary school students are indeed helping to clear debris from the attack on Vaclav Havel Street in Solomianskyi district on the night of June 18. But they joined the work on their own accord, together with adult volunteers, and after professional rescuers had finished working in the building. For example, in the BBC report from the scene of the events, the cleanup of wreckage in the Ukrposhta branch, which we see on video, is described as follows: «A few meters away, all employees gathered — they came to work in the morning, but there was nowhere to work. The women are waiting for the rescuers to let them into the building… On the street, volunteer organizations are handing out film on the windows, the police are collecting testimonies, psychologists and several dozen journalists are working. Next to the rescuers are service dogs that are trained to search for both the living and the dead». Thus it is obvious that the schoolchildren appeared at the scene of the crash after the professional services had finished their work. And the propaganda claim that adults are not helping to dismantle the wreckage because they are supposedly hiding from the drafting measures is absolutely baseless.
At the same time, the Ukrainian audience reacted positively to Hryshchuk’s publication: subscribers were impressed and moved by the involvement of the younger generation, but saddened by the fact that Russian missile strikes are depriving schoolchildren of a normal childhood.
