The fake about the alleged lack of evidence of the kindergarten strike is refuted by official data, photo, video materials and numerous eyewitness testimonies. This fake is part of a campaign to justify war crimes and manipulate public opinion internationally.
The fake that there is no evidence of the Russian Armed Forces striking a kindergarten in Kharkiv was spread immediately after the attack. Russian security forces and the media controlled by them stated that there is no kindergarten at the address where the strike was carried out, and the photos and videos of the aftermath are staged.
The purpose of spreading such fakes is informational and psychological influence aimed at denying the involvement of the Russian Armed Forces in strikes on civilian objects and responsibility for civilian casualties, discrediting Ukrainian sources and convincing their audience that it was not a kindergarten that was allegedly attacked, but some kind of «military» facility.
After the Russian attack with strike drones on Kharkiv on October 22, 2025, at around 11 a.m., local authorities and the media reported a direct hit by a drone on a private kindergarten, where 48 children were sheltering at the time.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office released a video of a Russian drone striking a kindergarten building. The video captured the direct hit and explosion. According to the prosecutor’s office, Russia attacked the kindergarten with three strike drones at once. The attack killed a 40-year-old man, a utility worker who was cleaning the area near the kindergarten. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, nine people who were outside were injured. All children were quickly evacuated.
The mayor’s and prosecutor’s office’s reports confirm that a private educational center — a kindergarten — was indeed operating at the specified address in the Kholodnohirskyi district of the city.
«We relocated the children to a safe place, and psychologists promptly started working with them. The parents came there immediately. Everyone was very scared, the children were crying», the city mayor Igor Terekhov told local media.
First responders working at the scene recorded damage to the facade of the building, a fire inside, and broken windows in the kindergarten itself and in neighboring houses.
Moreover, the corporate colors of the Honey Academy kindergarten are clearly visible on the front of the destroyed building.
Later, the Patrol Police of the Kharkiv region published a video from a body camera of one of the police officers who helped take the children out of the shelter.
