This video is staged. It was published by an account that regularly distributes staged footage with AI elements to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A video is being circulated in the Russian segment of social networks in which a military man forces a civilian to repeat «Glory to Ukraine» and, after he refuses, shoots him. The military man’s comrade in the video exclaims «you killed him». Propagandists comment that the incident allegedly took place in the Kharkiv region, and the man was shot after he refused to let the military into his home, explaining this by the fact that his mother was sick.

However, this video is staged. It was published by a now-deleted TikTok account called @dropximik120, which regularly distributed discrediting fake videos about the Ukrainian military. For example, among their posts were «speeches» by Ukrainian military personnel criticizing the authorities, stories about the critical situation at the front, and stories about the so-called crimes of Ukrainian military personnel generated with AI.

In addition, the profile has already published other stagings: in one of the videos, Ukrainian military personnel allegedly beat up a policeman. Yet it is clear that in reality the man is simply waving his leg, without even touching the young man in a police uniform lying on the ground. This video was then refuted by VoxCheck, who also drew attention to a number of other suspicious details. And in another video from the same profile, the role of a Ukrainian military personnel who is allegedly indignant that «the drafting office only sends alcoholics to the frontline» was played by a professional conman who is currently serving in the Russian army. This was established by OSINT researchers based on open source data. Thus, the profile that first published the video of the «shooting a civilian» is a whole production company that is engaged in the creation and distribution of fakes designed to discredit the Ukrainian army. An additional confirmation that this is fake is the fact that neither the Ukrainian media nor law enforcement agencies in the Kharkiv region have written about a single incident with the shooting of civilians.
