The Russian website Ukraina.ru published a story by little-known American author Jack Smith claiming that Russia is an important player in Syria and Washington is obliged to listen to her. The site presented the story as if it was published in the prestigious journal Foreign Policy.
In fact the article cited was published in the little known private web site called Foreign Policy Journal.
The publisher and editor of this site is one Jeremy R. Hammond, a conspiracy theorist who until recently taught English as a second language.
Ukraina.ru has since removed the Foreign Policy banner from this story.
